Brightn Product Update – September 2025

This month’s update focuses on clarity, speed, and smarter personalization.

TL;DR

This month’s release sharpened the core: better AI context and memory, clearer reflections with Markdown, smoother onboarding for Premium users, normalized sentiment analysis, and fewer call flow hiccups. Brightn continues to remove friction while laying foundations for long-term personalization.

🧠 Smarter AI Context & Memory

We expanded what the AI “remembers” when guiding you:

  • Pulls in your custom AI name, occupation, bio, free/premium status, and conversation count

  • Fixed a bug where reflections didn’t always account for the full conversation

  • Pinecone vector database now retrieves past reflections with similar content, giving the AI continuity across sessions

Why it matters: Instead of feeling like each chat starts from scratch, Brightn now builds on your story with more consistency. Guidance feels personalized, grounded, and connected to your actual journey.

📊 Clearer, More Consistent Insights

  • Reflections and content now render with Markdown, making them easier to scan and digest

  • Sentiment analysis formula normalized for steadier, more reliable mood tracking

Why it matters: Clean formatting helps you connect dots faster, while consistent sentiment scores make trends more trustworthy.

🚀 Onboarding That Meets You Where You Are

  • Premium users see their Plans immediately after sign-up

  • Company-sponsored users get a clear “My insurance covers Premium” option

  • The initial AI message loads faster, cutting the dead space during first impressions

Why it matters: Clarity and speed reduce early drop-off and make benefits obvious, especially for enterprise clients coming through partners.

🎙 Voice Calls That Stay on Track

  • If mic permissions are blocked, you’re redirected to chat instead of getting stuck

  • Fixed a lingering bug around OpenAI’s call API

Why it matters: Voice is only valuable if it’s reliable. These fixes make conversations seamless, even if permissions or APIs misbehave.

⚙️ Under the Hood

We refreshed our tech stack (React + NodeJS upgrades), improved in-app reviews logic, cleaned up story continuation, and updated our app store images and copy.

Why it matters: Not every improvement is visible, but these changes keep Brightn modern, stable, and discoverable.

Looking Ahead

The next release will expand AI memory even further and introduce Streaks — helping you build daily momentum. September was about polishing the foundation; October is about deepening engagement.
