Brightn Therapy Is Now Live!

Booking a licensed therapist just got a lot easier. Here's how it works in the Brightn app:

Therapy in Brightn

Real therapy, when you want it

If you've been in the app lately, you may have noticed something new. You can now connect with a licensed therapist directly through Brightn.

Daily check-ins and journaling do a lot. Sometimes you want to talk to an actual person, and finding one is its own exhausting project. We built this so that step is a few taps instead of a few weeks.

These are licensed clinicians, available in most states. Nothing about your Brightn experience changes unless you want it to. Therapy is there if you need it, and the rest of the app works exactly the same if you don't.

Don't see a therapist in your state yet? We're adding clinicians to the network regularly. Check back in a little while, because availability is changing week to week.

How it works

Two ways to book, one short form

You can book straight from your home screen, or from a journal conversation when the AI notices it might help to talk to someone. Both paths land in the same place.

From there it's the part you'd expect: pick a therapist licensed in your state, choose a time that works, and fill out a short intake form so they know a little about you before you meet. Brightn can fill in parts of that form from your journal entries, so you're not retyping your life story.

Here's a walkthrough of the whole thing, start to finish.

Step by step

Booking your first session

1

Open Brightn and scroll to the bottom of your home screen. Tap Book session.

2

Pick your therapist. You'll see clinicians licensed in your state. Tap one to view their availability.

3

Choose your date and time. Then pick a single session, or a bundle of six at a discounted rate.

4

Complete the intake form. A few questions about your details, history, and any medications. Brightn auto-fills what it can from your journal entries, and you can edit anything. Once it's done, your session is confirmed.

5

Join your session. You'll get a text before your appointment with a link. Tap it, enter your name, and you're in.

6

Afterward, journal about it. Or book your next session, right in the app.

One thing worth doing

Journal before your first session. Answer a few prompts, save the entry, and Brightn will offer to share it with your therapist. It's an easy way to walk in without having to explain everything from scratch.

Whenever you're ready

There's no pressure here. Plenty of people will keep using Brightn exactly as they have been, and that's a completely reasonable choice. But if talking to someone has been sitting on your list for a while, it's a few taps away now.
